An Access database that carried the entire management of more than 1,000 properties, rebuilt as a web application: reachable from anywhere, without macros, without restores.

Challenge

An Access database that had grown over years mapped every process of the property management business: all master data, all documents and all deadlines for more than 1,000 properties ran through it. Only a few people could use it at the same time, countless macros were understood by nobody any more, and the file had to be restored again and again.

Solution

The management was rebuilt as a web application, reachable over VPN from any location. The data lives in a proper database, and the interface follows the familiar workflows, just without the macros.

Result

Staff no longer have to come into the office to work, the interface is simpler and easier to understand, and problems with simultaneous editing or with broken macros are gone.
