Approach
On the technical side, the functions of the existing site that are actually used are collected, and we analyse where enquiries really came from and which articles and content nobody may have clicked in years.
Then there are three options: clean WordPress up and maintain it, keep WordPress only as a content backend (headless), or rebuild the site without a CMS.
A rebuild keeps addresses and content intact, so existing search rankings are not lost.
If the site has aged, a new design makes a good foundation for a new website. It can be created cost-effectively from your ideas and content, and adjusted as you like.
What drives the effort
- The number of pages and whether content is carried over or rewritten
- Forms, bookings or shop features that need replacing
- Whether the site is meant to be edited after all

In practice
When it is not worth it
If you and your audience are happy with the existing site. It is worth asking a few of your closest clients whether the current site speaks to them.
Common questions
- Do we lose our Google rankings in the switch?
No. Addresses stay the same or are redirected, content and metadata are carried over. Shorter load times tend to help rather than hurt. We also prepare the site to be read well by AI search engines, so your site is most likely more visible afterwards than before.
- Why redesign an existing site?
There is no second chance to make a first impression. The very first look at the website has to convince, or prospective clients lose interest. Load times beyond two seconds are more and more often a reason to close the page right away. Unclear content and structure confuse people and cut contact requests noticeably.
- Can we still change text ourselves afterwards?
Of course, we follow your lead. Our experience is just that most companies do not do it regularly enough to justify the ballast of a CMS. Since we usually handle small changes on request the same day, there is often no reason for one. Anyone who wants to write regularly themselves gets an editorial system, naturally.
